Read the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA)'s analysis of these bills HERE

We have done our job in asking legislators to produce an immigration reform bill that was reasonable, comprehensive, kept families together, met the economic needs of the country, protected all workers’ rights.  We asked for a path to citizenship that was not contingent on Border Security.  Join the SC Immigration Coalition to learn about what the Senators in the “Gang of Eight” came up with.

The Border Security, Economic Opportunity and Immigration Modernization Act, S. 744 is now public.  This is a long and complex bill.  SC Appleseed Legal Justice Center has partnered with The Leadership Conference to sponsor a webinar for the SCIC and anyone interested in understanding what is proposed in the bill.

Once you know and understand the bill, we will need you to act.  We need you to join our Immigration Action Campaign to garner support and increase pressure on our Members of Congress to vote for the passage of a bill THIS YEAR.  The Senate votes (Late May – Early June).
